Midtown

Fulton County | 30308, 30309

One of Atlanta’s highest density commercial and residential neighborhoods, Midtown has a storied past. The route which eventually became Peachtree Road was originally a path that cut through dense woodlands along the crest of a series of hills. Over the years the ara was considered a shanty-town known for vagrancy which earned it the name “tight squeeze,” and later implementation of a streetcar line and roads suited for automobiles increased the area’s appeal as a retail destination. The area has had stints of being popular among minority groups such as the LGBTQA and hippies, before it evolved into what it is today. Home to the Fox Theater, High Museum of Art, Colony Square, Museum of Modern Art, and a number of excellent restaurants and shops, this strip brings visitors from around the world to experience Atlanta’s most famous street.

Proximity to the beautiful grounds of Piedmont Park, MARTA, Georgia Tech, SCAD, Atlantic Station, and the numerous office buildings in the area make this a popular neighborhood for professionals who live, work, and play in this active and happening community. The streets of midtown are lined with an eclectic mix of single family and multifamily homes. Don’t miss out on the number of excellent festivals and events that come to Piedmont Park every year, including the Dogwood Festival, Jazz Festival, Chalk Art Festival, Rescue Dog Olympics, the Atlanta Ice Cream Festival, and more.
