Named in honor of Coca-Cola magnate Asa Candler, the Candler Park neighborhood features a 55-acre park complete with playgrounds, swimming pool, sports fields, and a 9 hole golf course. The community consists of craftsman and victorian style bungalows along charming and walkable neighborhood streets. The park is home to a number of festivals including the Candler Park Music Festival and the Candler Park Fall Fest, where visitors can enjoy live music, food trucks, and artist booths.

Don’t miss the Mulberry Fields greenspace tucked away off of Iverson Street, one of the Wylde Center’s five greenspaces spread throughout Atlanta. Here you can tend a plot in the garden, bring your compost scraps, and visit with the resident chickens and goats.

Candler Park is home to a quaint shopping district which includes funky dining and a few retail options. Neighbors enjoy coffee and tea at Doctor Bombay’s Underwater Tea Party, breakfast can be had at Flying Biscuit as well Gato Bisco, Fellini’s serves pizza and across the street La Fonda Latina offers up delicious Mexican eats. Candler Park Market is a beloved institution, and just down the street at the intersection of McLendon and Oakdale sits Shawn’s, a newer market option.

McLendon connects Candler Park to Little 5 Points, one of the city’s funkiest retail districts. Here you’ll find pizza, record shops, consignment clothes, the Little 5 Points Pharmacy, and an independent co-op grocery store, Sevananda. It is also convenient to Edgewood Retail District, the Lake Claire neighborhood, and getting around is easy with the nearby MARTA station on the city’s east-west line.
