Druid Hills

DeKalb County | 30306, 30307

A lovely neighborhood conceived by Joel Hurt, Druid Hills offers a number of fine homes designed by Neel Reid and other outstanding architects, including some of Atlanta’s historic mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. Frederick Law Olmstead, well known for his design of Central Park in New York City, designed Druid Hills and the parks therein as one of his last commissions. The design elements of Druid Hills were so notable that the U.S. Department of the Interior once declared Druid Hills to be “significant as the finest example of late 19th and early 20th century comprehensive planning and development in the Atlanta area, and one of the finest period suburbs in the Southeast.”

All roads lead to Ponce de Leon Avenue or N Decatur Road, connecting the Emory University Campus, Emory Hospital, and CDC Headquarters. A number of greenspaces including Fernbank Forest, Medlock Park, Hanh Woods, and Olmstead Linear Park offer year-round natural beauty for Druid Hills residents. The Atlanta Boys Choir, Callanwolde Fine Arts Center, and Emory Village all call Druid Hills home.
