Atlanta, GAMAR 9, 2017 — This Wednesday, March 15th, the Pratt-Pullman Historic Site will be open one last time before it is sold to the highest bidder. This could be the last time to see the Pratt-Pullman because there is nothing stopping future owners from building storage facilities in front of the historic buildings, or just leaving them to rot another 20 years,... or demolishing them. It is infuriating that with so much public support to protect these awe-inspiring public assets, Governor Deal still won't act. Those who represent our will, won't pressure the Georgia Building Authority or the State Property Commission to follow their own guidance on historic preservation. It is important that we all remember that when it comes time to vote - this is about a lot more than preservation now; this is about public accountability. Join us at the Pratt-Pullman on Wednesday March 15, from 11am to 1pm to make sure our elected officials know that we will hold them accountable. And in the meantime, call and email the GBA and the Governor: Director of GBA Steve.stancil@spo.ga.gov, Assisstant Director of GBA steve.fanczi@gba.ga.gov, Director of Communications for GBA paul.melvin@gba.ga.gov Govenor's Office - georgia.governor@gov.state.ga.us Call or email the following state senators and tell them you support Senate resolution 180, to Preserve the Pratt-Pullman: ed.harbison@senate.ga.gov (404) 656-0074 blake.tillery@senate.ga.gov (404) 656-0089 rick.jeffares@senate.ga.gov (404) 463-1376 gail.davenport@senate.ga.gov (404) 463-5260 stevehenson@mindspring.com (404) 656-0085 chuck.payne@senate.ga.gov (404) 463-5402 Please share this update to as many folks as you can. Lets make this last rally a big one!
