Biking through Inman Park on a warm spring day is a blissfully sensory experience. As you pedal, lush canopies of trees shade you from above. Meandering streets wend you through a neighborhood that features scores of charming, Victorian-style homes. Everywhere you look, there are plants and flowers; your bike might now be bouncing a little because you’ve just turned down a cobblestone lane. You’ll wave to residents walking dogs, pushing strollers and enjoying the weather. Such is the peace garnered from visiting this unique area of town, located minutes from downtown. Established in 1912, Inman Park is Atlanta's first planned garden suburb, and it is evident that, from the very beginning, great attention was paid to the design of the parks and care for the trees, which are part of the very fabric of the neighborhood. Once you find yourself on Highland Avenue, the scene will change from residential to a thriving shopping and dining district, dotted with bakeries, yoga studios, restaurants, boutiques, business centers, lofts and more. From here, you can grab a bite to eat or a quick brew, pop into some shops and hop on the Freedom Parkway PATH trail or the Eastside Trail of the Atlanta BeltLine. The character of the neighborhood is proudly displayed in the public spaces of Inman Park, including the large mural of the Inman Park butterfly, visible from the BeltLine’s Eastside Trail. Currently, there are four homes listed for sale in Inman Park. 1. 784 Edgewood Ave., $865,000 2. 1028 Edgewood Ave., $799,00 3. 502 N. Highland Ave., $799,000 4. 763 Dixie Ave., $799,900 If you would like to see any of the homes listed, or any other property, please contact us at: 404.876.4526. Sixteen miles. That's the distance from Atlanta to Sandy Springs. So, if Music Midtown is not your cup of tea, check out Sandy Springs this weekend which is celebrating it's 31st annual festival.
Each year, over 30,000 attendees gather at Heritage Green to shop the street-lined booths with more than 600 artists, crafters, and vendors, and enjoy good times with music, food, and fun. The Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn and Stage offers great live music, dancing and entertainment throughout the two days of activities. Sports enthusiasts can compete to qualify for the Peachtree Road Race in the fast-paced Sandy Springs Lightning 10K and 5K. Kids will have a great time participating in all the children’s games at the Children’s Park. Visit the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum and celebrate the heritage of our community through interactive crafts, demonstrations, and exhibits both inside and outside the Museum. Each year brings new surprises! The Sandy Springs Festival is the largest fundraiser for Heritage Sandy Springs, a non-profit organization that operates Heritage Green, the four-acre city park in the heart of Sandy Springs. Founded in 1985 to oversee the preservation of the original “sandy springs” and the restoration of the Williams-Payne House, Heritage Sandy Springs presents a year round calendar of educational, cultural and heritage programs, and events for the community. Located in the center of the Sandy Springs business district, the site also includes green space gardens with a gazebo bandstand, the Heritage Sandy Springs Museum, the Sandy Springs Society Entertainment Lawn, a Research Library and Archive, and event venues including Heritage Hall.
