The juried Summerfest Artist Market is quickly becoming Atlanta’s premiere art show, specializing in fine, folk, and unique art. You can find original art in many price ranges and media, including: Painting, Photography, Clay, Metal, Stone, Wood, Jewelry, Glass, Textiles, and Mixed Media.
5K Road Race
This year’s Summerfest 5K Road Race will take place the morning of Saturday June 4 and will feature 1,500+ runners winding their way through the streets of Virginia-Highland. The race, which is now an official qualifying race for the Peachtree Road Race, features electronic chip timing and runners are encouraged to register for the race in advance. This race often closes out quickly, so we encourage early registration.
NEW! Participants who register for the Summerfest 5K Road Race on or before June 1 will automatically be eligible to win some amazing prizes. Four lucky runners will be chosen at random to receive $50 in “Artist Bucks” that can be used to purchase art at the Summerfest artist market and (10) lucky runners–21 years and older–will receive (2) tickets to the new Summerfest Margarita Tasting Event ($40 value). Race Packet Pick-Up:Pre-registered 5K Road Race participants can avoid the crowds and pick up their race number and t-shirt early. Race packets can be picked up at Phidippides at Ansley Mall on May 28 – June 1 (no packet pickup at Phidippides June 2-3). Packets can also be picked up inside the Virginia-Highland Church, 743 Virginia Ave. (across from Inman Middle School) on Friday, June 3 from 4:30pm – 7:30pm (packet pick-up only, no race registration).
We are accepting race day registrations, with race day packet pick-up on June 4 (6:30am – 7:30am in Yeah Burger parking lot, 1017 N. Highland Ave). Local runners are still encouraged to take advantage of early packet pick-up.
FoodSummerfest always features a range of delicious food from an array of festival vendors and local restaurants. A variety of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks are available throughout Summerfest.
Music StagesMain Stage: Presented by Creative Loafing, the Summerfest Music Stage will feature a variety of renowned local musicians along with nationally acclaimed singer-songwriters. The Main Music Stage is located on the lawn of the eastern section of John Howell Park.

Acoustic Stage: Presented by AM 1690 and Newstalk 1160 radio, Francisco & Friendsperformers will play starting at 2pm Saturday, 6/4 and starting at 1pm Sunday, 6/5.
The acoustic stage will also play host to young performers from our area. On Saturday, June 4, enjoy performers fromEclectic Music from Noon – 2:00pm. And on Sunday, June 5, see the Burke Connolly Academy Irish Dancers from Noon – 1:00pm.

Evening Street Party At Acoustic StageThe Evening Street Party at the Acoustic Stage will be held near the Triangle Island at the intersection of Virginia and N. Highland Avenues on Friday, June 3, 2016 from 8:00pm to 10:45pm and on Saturday, June 4, 2016 from 7:00pm to 10:45pm.
Come on out to enjoy a variety of acoustic acts by “Francisco & Friends,” enjoy a tasty beverage and keep your Summerfest experience going.
Tot TrotAfter the 5K Road Race (starting around 9:15am), children ages 7 and under can run, waddle or crawl to the finish line of the Tot Trot which will be held this year on the lawn of the middle eastern section of John Howell Park (near Barnett). Every child receives a blue ribbon and a t-shirt for participating. Registration ($10 per child) is on-site, day-of-race, starting at around 8 AM on the grass inside John Howell Park between where the statuary is and Barnett St.
For 2016 Kidsfest will be located in the western section of John Howell Park, in the area where the sand volleyball courts are. Kidsfest features unique games, crafts and activities for children of all ages, many of which are free. Times are Saturday, June 4, 2016 (10am to 3pm) and Sunday June 5, 2015 (10am to 3pm).
